ESITC Caen has launched a new One Year post Graduate Programme in Green Building Materials and Sustainable Development. The degree, approved by the Conference des Grandes Ecoles, was developed to respond to the needs of companies in the sector by emphasizing the latest innovations in building materials and the use of digital simulations to examine case studies and projects. After a year in the programme, which includes a 6-month real-world assignment with a company, graduates with an MS from ESITC Caen will possess expertise in a high-demand area in the civil engineering market. |
As part of a European INTERREG IVA France (Manche)—England, ESITC-Caen’s laboratory has been selected to participate in the project SETARMS (Sustainable Treatment and Reuse of Marine Sediment). This project aims at finding solutions for recovery and sustainable management of marine sediments.
ESITC Caen will take the lead on the segment of the project “Valuation of Marine Sediments in Road Construction”. The project is currently being carried out at the school’s laboratory and is scheduled to be completed in December 2013.
From a total of 5 million euros, including 1 million euros for the project taken on by the school’s laboratory (co-financed by the European Union and the Lower Normandy Region), this project combines multiple players from both sides of the Channel: seaport managers (APLM, Grand Port Maritime du Havre, Ports Normands Associés, General Council of the Cotes d’Armor), research laboratories (ESITC-Caen, University of Caen, LASEM, EMD University Brighton) and construction companies (Eurovia). |
